11 SMEs win N1m business grant as Kwara Trade Fair Ends in Grand Style

As the 2023 Kwara Trade Fair organized by the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), came to a close, 11 small and medium scale enterprises on Sunday received N90,000 each.

The business grant award follows transparent raffle draw for registered participants with good business plans.

Raw talents were discovered in Talent Hunt Exercise in Music, Dancing and Comedy with Naijarugged, a dancing group emerging as winner with cash prize of N100,000.

The 1st runner up, Baba Adan Comedy group received N75,000 while the 2nd runner-up, Small Baddo, went home with N50,000. 

Luck also smiled on Abdulgafar professionally known as Alapo Gucci who accrued N70,000 personal donations from dignitaries for his outstanding performance through the trade fair. 

The 2023 Kwara Trade Fair organized by Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) ended on Sunday, December 17, 2023 amidst fun fair and excitement for renewed hope of transformative economy in the state. 

The Trade Fair held at Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin supported by Kwara State Government, KAM Wires, LUBCON, Femtech and other organizations attracted hundreds of participants from every part of the state and beyond.

In his address, the Chairman 10th Kwara Trade Fair Planning Committee and 1st Deputy President KWACCIMA, Engr Abu Salami appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving the Chamber unconditional support which culminated in the success recorded.

According to Salami, as at today, KWACCIMA can beat its chest as organizers of one of the best three National Trade Fairs among the comity of Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria. 

“Your Excellency, with this legacy that you have started and we believe you are going to handover to the next administration, KWACCIMA assures you that we shall continue soaring higher by working towards a true National Trade Fair and further end up with a biennial International Trade Fair where many well established manufacturers will be invited to contribute to the economy of the state.” He assured.

He used the opportunity to appreciate their sponsors; Kwara State Government, Federal Inland Revenue Service, KAM Holdings Limited, LUBCON Limited, LABENT Nigeria Limited, Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industries Nig.Ltd and Saliu Mustapha Foundation. He also appreciated Kwara ALGON led by TIC Chairman Ifelodun local government, Hon Jide Asonibare for adding glamour and color to the Trade Fair.

Our Correspondent reports that 120 exhibitors including 6 Federal agencies; 5 Kwara State Ministry, Agencies and Institutions; 16 local government areas; two banks; 14 companies and 77 Nano vendors participated in the trade fair.

The grand finale was attended by Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq represented by Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, TIC Chairmen across the state, Business owners among others. 

Expressing her excitement with sense of fulfillment, KWACCIMA President who is the first female President, Chief. Mrs Oluronke Adeyemi expressed satisfaction with turn out of exhibitors and Kwarans. 

Adeyemi noted that the Chamber would leverage on established contacts to boost the state economy, facilitate trainins/promotion opportunities and enhance engagement with local government areas across the state.
