To this end, we will be sponsoring members of Drug Free Club in Secondary Schools in two skills including coding. It will be 100 percent sponsorship. This is going to make them relevant in the technological driven economy and compete effective on global stage.”

He also directed the renewal of KAF weekly radio program to create awareness about drug free society.

The Ekiti State Commandant of NDLEA, Aina Rufus in his address, noted that the fight against substance abuse is not a battle of the agency alone but a collective effort.

The NDLEA Boss represented by Femi Adebayo, said multifaceted problems of substance abuse demand a unified, community-based, and holistic approach.

His words : “The fight against substance abuse is not a battle that any single agency or organization can win alone. It is a multifaceted problem that demands a unified, community-based, and holistic approach.

Substance abuse is not just a criminal justice issue, it is a public health crisis, a social challenge, and a threat to the future of our youth. While our agency is mandated to enforce laws, dismantle trafficking networks, and bring offenders to justice, we recognize that true and lasting progress must go beyond arrests and seizures. It must involve prevention, rehabilitation, education, and community empowerment.

“Today’s seminar is not just another gathering. It is a clarion call to all of us, policymakers, educators, health workers, parents, and youth to work together to safeguard the future by breaking the cycle now. Together, let us rise to the challenge, stand firm against drugs, and build a safer, healthier, and more resilient society for generations to come.”

The Chairman of the planning committee, Mr Gregory Adeyemi commended the founder, Engr. Kayode Adamolekun, for his unwavering commitment to youth development and community transformation.

He said: “It takes passion to identify a problem, but it takes courage, leadership, and sacrifice to continually work toward a solution. Through his leadership, the Foundation has become a rallying point for collective impact.
This year’s theme, “Safeguarding the Future: Breaking the Cycle of Substance Abuse in Society,” is timely, urgent, and very important. It reminds us that the battle against drug abuse is not for one person or one family to fight alone. It is a collective fight and we need to realize we are all in this fight together.

“Today’s event is packed with meaningful activities: a thought-provoking seminar, a community-focused medical outreach, a friendly football match, and the official commissioning of the Kayode Adamolekun Foundation sports pavilion. Each part of this day has been thoughtfully designed to both inspire and serve.”

Dr Ifeoluwayimika Bamidele of Afe Babalola University, and a Psychologist, Abiola Bashorun delivered lectures on the theme: Safeguarding the future: breaking the cycle of substance abuse in the society.
