A fully loaded 18-seater passenger bus went up in flames during the rush hour this morning along Ilorin – Shao road, Kwara State.
The incident happened at about 7:40am on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The passenger bus was on its way to Malete, Moro local government area, when the incident happened.
One of the passengers, Abdulsamad Gold, narrated to newsmen, that road users alerted the driver to inferno from the rear part of the bus.
Passengers quickly disembarked from the car, with no casualty recorded.
Gold, however, stated that all efforts to quell the fire proved futile.
The driver, a visibly broken man was seen sitting on the bare floor, lamenting over the unfortunate accident.
Most of the passengers of the ill-fated bus were staff and students of the Kwara State University, Malete.
