The Ilorin Emirate Youth Assembly has endorsed Ambassador Yahaya Seriki as preferred candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, for the 2027 Kwara State Governorship election.
The group, comprising dedicated members of the APC from Asa, Ilorin West, Ilorin East, and Ilorin South Local Government Areas, said the emergence of Yahaya Seriki will ensure continuity in Kwara and align with the Bola Tinubu policies at the center.
The Ilorin Emirate Youth Assembly, which declared support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu, made its stand known in a press release issued on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and signed by its Coordinator, Hon. Ayuba Olomogbona, and Secretary, Hon. Lateef Oloyin.
The youth group said its decision follows thorough assessment of all aspirants and a critical review of their track records.
According to the Emirate Youth Assembly, we have evaluated their respective contributions to the socio-economic and political development of Kwara Central and Kwara State at large.
It added that the “evaluation was guided by the standards of leadership and development initiatives exemplified by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, whose administration has made notable strides over the years.
“After extensive deliberations, the Ilorin Emirate Youth Assembly hereby calls on all Kwarans to unite and support the emergence of one of our distinguished sons, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, as the gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
“We strongly believe that his leadership capacity on Youth employment , empowerment and inclusiveness and vision align with the developmental aspirations of Kwara State and will sustain and advance the progress already achieved,” the statement read.
The Emirate Youths also charged Nigerians to support the re-election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in order to ensure continuity in the ongoing national development agenda.
