The Chairman, Crown Charity Trust, CCT, Chief Mufutau Adebayo, has urged religious leaders and adherents to serve as ambassadors of peace in a bid to create a harmonious society for the nation to thrive.

He particularly charged the Christian community to emulate the life of Jesus Christ who “was an embodiment of love, piety, humility and sacrifice, particularly his willingness to die for others.

Adebayo made the charge in a statement personally signed by him and issued on Saturday, April 20, 2025, to felicitate the Christian community on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration.

He admonished them to continue to tread the path of holiness and adopt the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“I join the Christian faithful to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I advise us to sustain the lessons and pious way of life we lived during the lenten period. It is the only way we can help to make our society better” he said.

The CCT Chairman, who noted that this year’s celebration is coming at a time when the nation is facing security challenges, expressed strong hope that God will intervene as Christians and Muslims have sought his face through fasting and supplication in the last months.

He, however, appealed to the government at all tiers to rise up to the occasion by addressing the rising wave of killings in different parts of the country.

According to him, we cannot continue to pay lip service to the worsening security situation anymore. The time has come for the government, especially federal and states, to review the security architecture and combat the insecurity to save lives and properties.

In the spirit of Easter, the UK based philanthropist also admonished the privileged to extend hands of love to the needy.

Expressing concern over the economic situation in Nigeria, Adebayo said that the charity organization will continue to expand its humanitarian service to ensure that more and more Nigerians are lifted above poverty.
