The Labour Party Senator representing Edo South senatorial district, Neda Imasuen, has confirmed his defection to the All Progressives Congress(APC).

Senator Imasuen, who spoke in Benin City, said the defection to the APC was part of activities to mark his second year in office.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions said his defection was to align Edo South with Federal Government development priorities under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Imasuen listed his achievements to include the Federal College of Education, Abudu (Establishment) Bill, and resolution of over 20 public petitions.

He said he has ensured vocational training schemes, agricultural support programmes, and a rural initiative training traditional birth attendants as well as scholarships for students in the district.

On challenges in sustaining constituency projects, Imasuen called for stronger local government cooperation.

He pledged his continued focus on health, youth empowerment, rural development and support for President Tinubu’s policies.

According to him: “As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions, over 20 public petitions from across the country have been successfully resolved under my leadership.
