Kwara Govt, KWACCIMA to accelerate economic development

The President, Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, KWACCIMA, Chief (Mrs) Ronke Adeyemi, SAN, says measures have been put in place to ensure smooth operation during the 11th Kwara Trade Fair.

Adeyemi stated that early commencement of preparation for this year’s trade fair afforded them the opportunity to prepare well in the interest of participants and customers.

The 11-day event organized by KWACCIMA in collaboration with the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology, is scheduled to hold from 6th to 16th December, 2024, at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin, from 8:00am to 6:00pm each day.

Speaking at a press conference held at KWACCIMA Secretariat, Ilorin, on Monday, 2nd December, 2024, the KWACCIMA President noted that adequate preparation has been made with hotels and lodging apartments for accommodation of participants coming from various local government areas.

This, she said will eliminate any fear of affordable and comfortable accommodation.

She also added that adequate security has been put in place with the engagement of uniformed men and undercover agents, to ensure security of lives and properties.

Addressing press men at the press conference, the Chairman 11th Kwara Trade Fair Organizing Committee and 1st Deputy President, KWACCIMA, Engr. Abu Salami, said this year’s Trade Fair is themed: “Unlocking the Investment Potential of Kwara State for Sustainable Economic Development.”

Salami, who was represented by Dr Ibrahim Hassan, said the trade fair hopes to “showcase the abundant available resources in all 16 Local Government Areas in Kwara State to the whole world.”

He added that the event also aims to, ” accelerate development of commerce and industry in Kwara State, and indicate prospects for foreign and local private investments in strategic areas.”

The committee chairman noted that the public will enjoy different lines of consultancy services and consumable items in agricultural, mining, construction, industries, Oil and Gas, Telecommunication, renewable energy, clothing, cosmetics, and other fashion products.

According to him, there will be incentives such as low participation cost for exhibitors, free entry for visitors, Business Grants, Business Seminars, Talent Hunt, Musical concerts, and a children’s fun fair arena.

Salami expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak for its supports towards the successful hosting of Kwara Trade Fairs, as well as in other economic development programmes of KWACCIMA. 

The Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon. Mrs. Damilola Yusuf-Adelodun, reaffirmed the State government’s commitment  to fostering and promoting  economic growth, enhancing  business development and creating job opportunities in the State.

She reiterated that the 11th Trade Fair is a testament to the State government’s commitment to supporting businesses and promoting innovation.

Business organizations, Federal and State-owned Corporations, Local Governments, Agencies, and Parastatals, Research and Educational Institutions, Artisans, and Nano, Micro, Small, Medium, and Large Scale Industries from within and outside Kwara State are expected to participate.
