As part of its corporate social responsibility, CSR, the Lions Clubs International, District 404B2, is embarking on free eye test, surgery and distribution of eye glasses to members of the public.
The free healthcare service is part of events lined up to commemorate the Helen Keller day, 2023.
Helen Keller Committee Chairperson, Lion Alhaja Hassanat Kehinde Akeera, in a statement ahead of the event, stated that the Eye Screening will take place at the General Hospital, Taiwo road, Ilorin, on Thursday, 27th April, 2023, as from 8:00am till 4:00pm.
According to her, distribution of Eye Glasses will be Saturday, 29th April, 2023, at JJ & Jays Event Centre, Taoreed road, Basin Ilorin, as from 9:00am.
The statement noted that the District Governor, Lion Aare Lekan Owolabi, mjf, nlcf will be presenting the glasses and overseeing the surgery process.
“The Helen Keller Committee Chairperson, the committee members and Lions in Ilorin called on interested members of the community to come and take advantage of the opportunity.”
