SUBJECT: URGENT INTERVENTION ON THE PAYMENT OF FEBRUARY AND MARCH SALARIES FOR TEACHERS IN OSUN STATE
Your Excellency,
With a deep sense of dedication, commitment, and patriotism, I write to you to bring an urgent matter to your attention.
First and foremost, I sincerely appreciate your efforts in ensuring the prompt payment of salaries across all sectors in Osun State since you assumed office. Your commitment to clearing the backlog of half salaries owed by previous administrations is commendable and has been a significant relief to workers in the state.
However, Your Excellency, I regret to inform you that the issue of half salary payments has resurfaced in Osun State. In February 2025, some teachers under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) were not paid their full salaries. Unfortunately, despite several attempts to lodge complaints through the appropriate channels, the issue remains unresolved. To our dismay, the same situation has repeated itself in March 2025.
Your Excellency, this is not in line with the promises and commitments you made to Osun State workers during your electioneering campaign. Teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of our children, and it is only fair that they receive their rightful earnings without delay or deductions.
In light of this, I humbly appeal to you to take immediate action to resolve this issue and ensure the full payment of outstanding salaries. Your prompt intervention will not only restore teachers’ confidence but also reinforce your administration’s reputation for fairness and worker welfare.
Thank you in anticipation of your swift response.
Yours faithfully,
Temitope Olabisi
