Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has charged privileged individuals and organizations to remember the needy at this festive season and extend hands of generosity to them.
He also sought prayers and appreciation for the Nigerian troops who are on the battlefield fighting to ensure that Nigerians are secured.
Saraki stated this in a message shared on his x handle to celebrate with Nigerians at Christmas and as the New Year approaches.
The statesman noted that the country must not forget those facing hardship due to the economic situation in the country.
He said, “The end of the year is always a time of joy, of coming together with loved ones, of reflecting on the year gone by. But this year, I ask you to think about something more. Many of our fellow Nigerians are struggling right now—facing hardship, uncertainty, and loss.
“So, as we celebrate this season, let’s also remember those who need our help. Let’s be the hands that lift those who are falling behind, and the neighbours that share what we have, big or small.
“And let us take a moment to remember the men and women who are serving our nation —our troops, and all those who sacrifice so much to keep us safe. May God bless, protect, and give them strength, he added.”
From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas.
