Badewa Family, Ikeji-Ile Mourn as Osun Prince, Ojo Badewa Dies at 82

The Badewa family has announced the death of the family patriarch, Prince Elder Adekanbi Ojo Badewa.

Elder Badewa passed away on September 10th, 2024, at the age of 82.

His son, Adedoyin Badewa, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the late Prince died in his Lagos residence, surrounded by his wife and some of his children.

“It is with profound sadness that the family of Prince Elder Adekanbi Ojo Badewa announces his passing on September 10th, 2024, at the age of 82.

“Despite his ripe age, our father’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all his loved ones, but his legacy of love, peace, wisdom, and devotion will be cherished forever. 

“The family will announce the burial date shortly. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him,” the statement read.

Prince Badewa, the last son of the great warrior of Ikeji Ile, in Ijesha land, Osun State, was a respected figure in his community. 

A dedicated and versatile Christian, Prince Elder Badewa until his death, held the esteemed title of Elder at the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ibukun, Abule Egba, Lagos.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Florence Adeola Badewa, children, brothers, cousins, and nephews spread across the globe, including the United States, UK, Canada, and Europe.

Notably, he was the father of the General Manager of Diamondfm, Ilesa, Osun State, and uncle to many, including Dr. Prince Abiodun Philip Badewa, Chairman and Founder of Vicinity FM, Ikeji Ile, Osun State, Nigeria.
