KAF Anti-drug Abuse Crusade Competition Kicks off

The Inter Secondary Secondary School Football Competition organised by Kayode Adamolekun Foundation kicked off at the weekend in Aisegba community, Ekiti State.

The Football Competition organised among secondary schools in Gbonyin local government area of Ekiti State kicked off at the Aisegba Community Grammar School, Aisegba, Ekiti.

The football competition tagged ‘Playing for a Drug Free Society,’ courtesy, Kayode Adamolekun Foundation, is aimed at creating awareness against drug abuse and illicit drugs in the society.

The opening game between Aisegba comprehensive high school Aisegba Ekiti and Ilumoba Gramar school ended 3-0 in favour of Ilumoba team.

It was a display of football prowess as both teams tried to outclass each other, but the god of football favoured Ilumoba Grammar school at the end of regulation time.

Also in the second game, Aisegba High school defeated Ijanmodu comprehensive high school by 3-0.

On Sunday, Ojugbaye Comprehensive high school Imesi Ekiti will trade tackles with Methodist High school, Egbe, while Ile-owuro comprehensive high school Agbado Ekiti will slug it out with Ode High school Ode Ekiti.

The founder of the Foundation,  Engr Kayode Adamolekun who was represented by the Chairman, Inter school competition, Adebayo Adeyemi and an official of the foundation, Ojo Oluwasegun, noted that the competition is aimed at creating an avenue to take the war against drug across board, as football universally has been one of the best medium to send message to the mass audience.

Adamolekun noted that the sensitization football tournament became necessary due to the menace of Substance Abuse among teenagers and young adults.

He stressed that the game will create avenue to discuss with youths on the danger of drug abuse as well as create an enabling environment for rehabilitation.
