The Secretary Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP), Oyewale Oyelola has bagged award of honor from The Kwara Tabloid.

Oyewale Oyelola, the Managing Editor FactualTimes Online and Lecturer in Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti was honored under Heroes/Titans category for his political activism and contributions to media industry in Kwara State.

The Kwara Tabloid, a brainchild of Tunde Bakare is reputable media outfit with an active interactive elites forum for discussion of critical state and national issues.

Oyelola received the award alongside Executive Director Nigerian Workforce Strategy (NIWOSEC), Dr David Ehindero, Prof Wale Sulaiman’s Foundation- RNZ, Mrs Aransiola, Managing Director, BAMB Pencil Lagos, Mr Muideen Ibrahim at 10th Kwara Tabloid Public Lecture/Award ceremony held at Fabbies Hall, Ilorin on Friday, December 22, 2023.

In his reaction, Oyelola described the recognition as a motivation to continue to uphold ethics of journalism, give voice to the voiceless and hold government accountable as forth estate of the realms.

The ASKOMP Secretary is the Registrar Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists(NGIJ) and member of reputable professional organizations including International Press Institute (IPI), Nigerian Union of Journalists and Association of the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).

Earlier, Dr Yusuf from University of Abuja in his lecture charged Nigerian youths to acquire education and digital skills to enhance their employability.

Dr Yusuf also called for review of academic curriculum inline with technological advancement and reality in the country, noting that present curriculum contains irrelevant courses/subjects.

Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Alhaji Adamu Attahiru Manko represented by his brother, Alhaji Attahiru Manko, Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education,Mary Arinde, SSA Public Relations to Kwara Governor, Hon Jerry Kolo and others graced the occasion.
