The aspiration of Omooba Dotun Babayemi,a popular governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC)in Osun State,has received a major boost as teeming youths from Ayedade Local Government area of the state,endorsed his candidature,describing it as the best choice that would change the face of the state for the better..
Babayemi who is currently on a statewide consultative meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the party in his quest for the governorship ticket of APC,has maintained that the party would win coming election.
The youth numbering over two thousand from across the wards in the council area, stormed the APC secretariat in Gbongan where they okayed Babayemi’s candidature for the 2026 polls.
Having danced through some major streets in Gbongan, the hometown of Babayemi and the headquarters of Ayedade Local Government, they converged on the party secretariat at Araromi area where they formally pronounced him the best for the 2026 job in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the enthusiastic youths, Mr Rafiu Adekunle said their choice of Babayemi was predicated on the fact that he was visionary and service driven.
They contended that the impact of the Gbongan-born Prince through his contributions to communities in Ayedade LG and across the state,were immeasurable, noting that he has always been doing it in his private capacity
The youth said Babayemi has consistently exemplified leadership, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of the state and its people, stressing that these would be selling factors at the polls for APC if he was ultimately picked as its torchbearer in 2026.
According to him,Babayemi’s candidature and eventual emergence at the polls as governor, would lead to a remarkable turnaround for the state and its people.
To this effect, they appealed to the leaders and stakeholders of the party to make sure the Gbongan-born Prince was chosen to fly the flag of the party in 2026 gubernatorial election, expressing the optimism that the party’s victory at the election would be a foregone conclusion.
Meanwhile, the youth drawn from home and abroad, have praised President Bola Tinubu, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy as well as Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the state party Chairman for guiding the party in the right path.
