Former President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Sunday, paid homage to Alhaji Abdulraheem Akande Yahaya, the 12th Magaji of Oloje following his installation as the new Magaji.
He also paid condolence visits to the families of Alhaji Shehu Olabintan and Mallam Soliu Audu Eegba, both chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday evening, in Ilorin and signed by his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir.
At the Oloje residence of the new Magaji, Saraki registered his condolence over the departure of the late Magaji, lauding him for his love and leadership style while alive.
While congratulating the new Magaji, he expressed appreciation for the love that has existed between the Oloje and the Saraki family.
“The history between the Oloje and the Saraki family is rich and deeply rooted in mutual respect and love.
“I do cherish the support the Oloje community has shown my family over the years, ” he said.
The Magaji Oloje thanked the late Oloye and the entire Saraki family for their support and love for his family.
He further pledged his love and unwavering support for the Sarakis.
At the home of the late Alhaji Shehu Olabintan, Saraki described the former PDP Chairman, Ajikobi Ward in Ilorin West, as a strong party man who served with commitment and dedication to the welfare of the people.
He prayed for his soul and fortitude for the family and loved ones to bear the loss.
The family thanked Dr Saraki for his visit and the support extended always.
The former Senate President during his condolence visit to the family of Mallam Soliu Audu Eegba at Kongbari, said Baba Youth as he was fondly called will be sorely missed as an elder, a grassroot mobilizer and loyal party man.
“These men were stalwarts in our political journey and have left indelible marks in their respective communities.
“Their dedication to the welfare of the people of Kwara was evident in their service, and it is a legacy that we shall carry forward,” he said.
Saraki prayed to Allah to grant him Aljanah Firdaus and urged the family to uphold his good legacies.
“It is my hope and prayer that we continue to uphold the unity, love, and brotherhood that Kwara State is known for.”
The bereaved’s family expressed appreciation to the PDP leader for the visit, inspite of his tight schedule.
They pledged their support for the Sarakis and their political structure which according to them, has in no small measure positively affected the lives of the people in their communities and Kwara at large.
